Getting Here

Boghead Holiday Cottages are situated on the edge of the Coreen Hills overlooking the 18th Century village of Lumsden in North East Scotland.

Lumsden is on the A97 between Alford and Huntly and is home to the Scottish Sculpture Workshop and has its own small Sculpture Trail. It still retains its garage which has a small shop for daily essentials, nearby is the Mossat Antique Shop and the Mossat Fishery.

We are just off the Whisky Trail with 11 distilleries within a 20-mile radius and on the Castle Trail with the nearest, the 13th century Kildrummy Castle being only 4 miles away.

The Cairngorm National Park is 20 minutes away with its spectacular scenery and the Lecht Ski centre for the winter season.

We are 30 miles from both the Moray Coast (to the north) with its beautiful sandy beaches and small fishing villages and Aberdeen (to the east) with its grand Granite architecture and its new Conference Centre and Airport.

Alford the nearest town is home to the Grampian Transport Museum, for all things transport, the Alford Heritage Centre, covering the rural and social history of the area, as well as the nearest supermarket and several interesting independent shops, in the opposite direction is Huntly with its Castle, the Nordic Ski Centre and Deans Shortbread Factory, Shop and Bistro and Rizza’s Ice Cream Factory and Shop as well as 2 supermarkets and a selection of cafes and shops.
